Your new iPhone is filled with advanced technologies.
Here are some of our favorite tips and tricks to help you get the most out of them.
New, more natural ways to get around.
Swipe up from the bottom edge at any time to return home.
Swipe up from the bottom edge and pause to show the App Switcher.
Swipe down from the top-right to open Control Center. Press firmly on a control to reveal more options.
Press and hold the side button to talk to Siri anytime. Or set up “Hey Siri” to use Siri hands-free.
Double-click the side button at any time to get to Apple Pay and Wallet.
Press firmly on the flashlight or camera buttons on the Lock screen to use them instantly with 3D Touch. Do the same with apps, links, and more to see previews and access useful shortcuts.
Unlock, pay, and more with Face ID.
Face ID is a natural and secure way to unlock, authenticate, and pay. It’s also attention aware, meaning your iPhone authenticates only when you intentionally look at it. If you haven’t already, go to Settings › Face ID, then follow the steps to enroll.
Unlock. Simply raise your iPhone and glance at it to unlock. If it’s on a table or other flat surface, you can raise or tap to wake it first.
Preview. Reveal notifications and messages by glancing at them when they appear.
Pay. Double-click the side button and glance at your iPhone when using Apple Pay to make purchases securely.
Keep reading. With attention awareness, your iPhone recognizes when you’re reading so the screen stays lit.
Quiet notifications. With attention awareness, you can glance at an alarm or ringer notification to instantly lower the volume.
